Kurucu vakfımız olan İstanbul Şişli Vakfı 1994 yılında kurulmuştur. Vakfımızın kuruluş amaçları içinde yer alan "mesleki alanlarda ihtiyaç duyulan nitelikli insan gücünü yetiştirecek eğitim kurumları açmak" maddesi gereğince "İstanbul Şişli Meslek Yüksekokulu" kurulması hususunun Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı’na arz edilmesine karar verilmiştir.

İstanbul Şişli Meslek Yüksekokulu 18.05.2012 tarih ve 28296 sayılı Resmi Gazete'de yayımlanan 27.04.2012 tarih ve 2012/3165 sayılı Bakanlar Kurulu Kararı ile kurulmuştur.
