The tomb of Usman Ghazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire, is located in the Othman Ghazi area, close to Bursa city center. The founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Ghazi, was born in 1258 in the town of Sogut. His father was Ertugrul Gazi and his mother was Hayme Sultan.

He was a tall man with a round face, a dark beard, thick eyes and thick eyebrows. He wore a khurasan crown and a turban made of precious red cloth. Osman was a fair leader, brave and generous, always helping the poor and giving them his own clothes.

Osman, 23, managed to succeed in leading his clan in the town of Sogut, married Mal Sultan and had his son, Orhan, who succeeded him in power. He then married the daughter of Sheikha Bala Hatun and was born by Prince Alaeddin Pasha.

The Ottoman Empire, founded by Osman on three continents, lasted 600 years. Osman died at the age of 68 years from gout in Bursa in 1326 and was buried there. He is said to have left behind a horse armor, a few horses, three flocks of sheep and some of his personal needs.
