History of The Spoon Island

The island was originally called Pite Ada,

In 1950, the island was transferred to the Danone family, after which the island was transferred to the Dengkuk family. The latter built the Concretti berth on the opposite shore of Burgaz Ada. But the efforts of the Friends of the Island to protect the natural environment on the island succeeded, and the Directorate of the Central Municipality of Istanbul issued a decision suspending the construction work on the island and introduced the name of the island to the list of nature reserves.
