The Ataturk Museum is located not far from the heart of Bursa. He called it because it was Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's palace when he visited Bursa, where he visited 13 times.

The palace contains needs used by Ataturk as well as a bedroom, study room, bathroom, kitchen and dining room as well as a large reception hall. The palace was converted into a museum in 1973.

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was a commander in the Turkish Revolutionary Army and the first president of Turkey, the founder of the Turkish state, took over the presidency in 1934. Ataturk was a military officer during the First World War, and after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I, he led the Turkish national movement in the Turkish War of Independence.

After the establishment of the interim government in Ankara, he defeated the troops sent to him by the Allies. His military campaigns led to victory in the War of Independence. He then embarked on a program of political, economic and cultural reforms aimed at transforming the former Ottoman Empire into a modern, secular nation state.

Under his leadership, thousands of new schools were built, education was made free and compulsory, women were given their civil and political rights, the tax burden was reduced to farmers, and Ataturk followed a wide-ranging policy.
