About Us
The founding foundation of Toros University is Mersin Education Foundation.
The Mersin Education Foundation is a non-profit educational foundation established in 1979 to provide services in the field of education.
The Mersin Education Foundation was founded by idealistic teachers. Currently, 8 members of Mersin Education Foundation’s 12-person-trustee and 4 members of the 5-person administrative board are educators.
The Mersin Education Foundation is the leader in various areas of education in the region. The Mersin Education Foundation is the first Turkish school to have established a school that teaches foreign language (English), the first primary school that teaches foreign languages beginning from the kindergarten, the first private science high school and the first summer school in this region.
The Mersin Education Foundation has 7 schools in Mersin and Tarsus at the status of Pre-School Education, Primary Education, Anatolian High School, Science High School, Classical High School and Foreign Language Intensive High School.
Private Toros schools belong to the Mersin Education Foundation and is one of the oldest and largest educational institutions in the region.
Toros Schools have many graduates who service in all fields of academicians, bureaucrats, technocrats, artists and business both in Turkey and abroad.
The Mersin Education Foundation was founded in 1964 by a group of school managers, teachers, and parents of students. They formed together to overcome the threat of closing down Toros College in 1979 due to economic reasons.
Established in order to provide top level education services, the Mersin Education Foundation has been successfully developing its educational facilities in accordance with ideal educational conditions and by opening schools offering different types of education services such as Pre-school Education, Primary Education, Science High School, Anatolian High School, Super High School and Summer School.
Toros Sports Club, founded in Mersin Education Foundation, has made important contributions to amateur sports activities. Toros Sports Club which has provided service to hundreds of athletes in various branches and categories over the years has produced a large number of athletes who have been selected as National Team and transferred to professional clubs so far.
Mersin Education Foundation schools have won numerous awards, including world and Turkish winners, in the fields of science and art besides sports facilities and physical facilities and competent staff.
International folklore festivals organized in cooperation with various institutions abroad, summer school, youth exchange projects, and international programs such as Globe studies have achieved significant achievements.
The foundation, which uses all of its income for services in the field of education, has provided educational scholarships for a number of students so far. The Mersin Education Foundation grants hundreds of primary and secondary education scholarships, not less than 10% of the total number of schools they support, every year. In addition to these scholarships, a certain amount of scholarships are awarded to a certain number of higher education students every year in accordance with the facilities of the foundation.
Since 2004-2005 academic years, UNICEF's "Haydi Kızlar Okula" campaign has been actively supported and 20 female students are being educated by the Mersin Education Foundation. This number continues to increase with new students each year.
The Mersin Education Foundation, which was established with the aim of providing services in all fields of education and continuously improves the related service possibilities.

* Those who will apply to the departments where the study language is Turkish, their Turkish language level will be assessed according to the exam results that will be given by TÖMER or International Students Exam results given by the universities in Turkey. ** Those who will apply to the departments where study language is English, their English language level will be assessed according to the one of the following certificates (TOEFL, IELTS, CPE, CAE, FCE etc.), or those who do not have one of the above certificates, must enter the Proficiency Exam prepared by School of Foreign Languages, Toros University.
