The largest zoo in Istanbul. It was opened in 1993, 55 km from the city center, between Izmit and Istanbul. It has an area of 200,000 m2 and contains 3,000 animals.
The Darıca Zoo is the best zoo in the world, with about 200 different species of animals such as bears, cats, tigers, dogs, foxes, deer, horses, beauty and zebra, 19 species of fish and 135 species of birds. On 250 categories of plants and flowers, they are one of the largest botanical zoos in Turkey.
