The Clock Tower is located in Tophane Park, where it is illuminated by a glittering view of most parts of Bursa. Built in the city of Bursa during the reign of Sultan Abdul Aziz (1860 - 1876) as a fire-fighting tower, the tower was made of huge pieces of stone and has a balcony on both the second and third floors.
The first tower, which was built during the reign of Sultan Abdul Aziz, was destroyed at an unknown time. Another tower was rebuilt in 1906 at a height of 25 m, consisting of 6 floors and reopened by the governor Rashid Mumtaz Pasha.
The tower is located near the tomb of Osman Ghazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire and his son Orhan Ghazi. It is also located in an area with a magnificent view of Bursa and near the city's citadel and its famous souks.
