Dolmabahçe Mosque

The Mosque of Dolma Bahja is also called the Mosque of the Sultan's mother or the Mosque of the Sultan of the mother of the world of Bezmialem Valide Sultan, the mother of Sultan Abdul Majid I.

Built by order of the Sultan Mother in 1853, and continued to build for two years, where after the death of Sultan Mother Sultan Abdul Majid I built, and opened for worship on Friday, March 23, 1855.

The Dolma Bahja Mosque is located in the Bioglu region, specifically on the seafront in the Kabatach region south of the Dolmabahçe Sarayı Palace in the European section of Istanbul.

The architectural complex of Garabet Balyan was designed and built, where classical Ottoman architecture was combined with Western architecture which was famous and spread throughout the period.

The complex is built in the Baroque style, in the shape of a square with a large dome based on four arches and two long minarets each with a private balcony. The inner façade of the mosque, the mihrab and the pulpit were decorated with inscriptions and oil-based works.

The mosque was damaged during the road works, which resulted in the destruction of the road and the outer courtyard, while the timing box was transferred to the authority supervising the sea.

The mosque of Dolma delight not only reflects the architecture of its time, but also for itself the experience of circular windows that were not known until then.
