The museum was first built in 1971 under the name of the "Hue" museum in Izmir and as a result of its lack of interest there, it was closed in 1979 and moved to Istanbul. It was opened on October 16, 1985 in the area of Yashil Kui in the European section of Istanbul Under the name of "Huagelik Museum" and the Aviation Museum.
The area of the museum is 15000 m 2 of which 3000 m 2 closed area and 12000 m 2 open space. The museum displays artifacts of valuable artifacts and tools used by the Turkish Air Force to objects of important personalities who have written their names in the history of Turkish air.
In the spacious hall of the museum, in addition to the Turkish Air Force's avatars, video films related to aviation are displayed. The watercolors of the leaders are displayed in the medal hall of the people who have written their names in the history of Turkish air as well as bronze medals for some of the leaders and their autobiography.
The clothing of the first Ottoman air officers and their medals, as well as the clothes worn by the first air martyr, "Fathi Bek", were displayed in the dressing room when he was martyred and other items of historical value. The weapons section of small arms used in aircraft is presented to missiles.
In the open courtyard of the museum, which is an open air museum, there are 19 jet aircraft, 7 aircraft with fan, transport aircraft and fighter aircraft as well as one radar.
