The wax museum, located in the Bioglu region of the European section of Istanbul, is the first and only of its kind in Turkey, which displays sculptures and human skeletons.
There are around 60 famous figures around the world. Although most of the pieces and structures are composed of wax, the hair and the blades are taken from real human hair, and thus appear to be real.
The museum consists of 3 halls: The first hall features figures from Ottoman and Islamic history such as Sultan Mohamed El Fateh, Genghis Khan and Farabi. This room also offers the opportunity to wear traditional Ottoman clothing, take pictures with nearby characters and carvings, and watch the Sultan's sanctuary.
In the second hall, visitors can meet famous European and international historical figures such as painter Leonardo da Vinci, German philosopher Karl Marx and French leader Napoleon Bonaparte. Sculptures and sculptures were brought to this room 13 years ago, from the Petersburg Museum in Russia.
In the third hall are figures from modern history such as the American singer Michael Jackson and the British Beatles. The sculptures of this section were designed using masks, taken from the faces and hands of the persons themselves.
Visitors can also make wax patterns for their hands or feet, and keep them for several years.
