The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, extended his thanks to the heads of the Turkish Council states for their great efforts regarding the preparations and preparedness to confront the virus, this came in a tweet to Ghebreyesus via Twitter, in which he stated his participation in the emergency summit of the heads of the member states of the Turkish-speaking countries. Earlier Friday, the heads of the "Turkish Council" held an emergency meeting via closed-circuit television, to discuss the Coruna epidemic, at the initiative of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. As well as Aliyev, the meeting was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Kazakh Qasim Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Uzbek Shaukat Mehdiyev, Turkmenistani Qurbangli Berdy Mammadov, as well as the Secretary-General of the Turkish Council Baghdad Amreyev, and the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
