Work Permit in Turkey

The privileges granted by the work permit for foreigners in Turkey

Work permissions types

There are three main types of work permits in Turkey

Permission to work for a limited period

The work permit is valid for a limited period of one year. When applying for the first time, it is extended for a maximum period of two years after the end of the first period, if the person continues to work in the same company and the same profession. After the second (two) years, the work permit can be extended for three years.

Permission to work for an unlimited period

A foreign worker shall be granted a work permit for an unlimited period (permanent) in case of a period of not less than 8 years with a regular work permit and without interruption.

Independent work permit

This type of authorization is granted to foreign employees who have spent 5 years working with a regular work permit and without interruption. And if they have the potential to benefit the economic development of the country can provide certificates and qualifications that contribute to the economic development of the country and qualify them to work independently and obtain permission to work.

Papers required to obtain work permit in Turkey

In order to obtain a work permit from the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security, some papers and documents must be prepared. The Ministry requires some papers and documents from both the foreign employee and the company in which he works.

Required documents from the foreign employee

  1. Tourist accommodation is valid for a period of time, or a temporary protection card, with a period of more than 6 months.

Teachers

The government educational institutions in Turkey require the foreign employee to equalize the certificate in the Turkish Ministry of Higher Education in Ankara, while the private educational institutions do not request the equivalence of the certificate, but only that the university from which the foreign employee graduated is recognized by the Turkish Ministry of Higher Education.

Occupations whose holders are not entitled to work permits in Turkey
